Friends, I am so happy you found your way here.
Shiloh + Bella was born of a desire to recapture a spark – the kind that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning and do something extraordinary.
I worked really hard to reshape my life the past few years because somewhere along the way I lost my spark. And I wanted it back.
That revelation isn’t particularly unique. Many of us reach a point – particularly in the middle years – where we pause, reflect, and begin asking different questions. It’s a process that requires honesty, introspection, and a willingness to reimagine what comes next.
In finding my “Why,” what becomes very clear is how important travel and art are to me, and how their absence dims my light.
Travel doesn’t have to mean jetting off to exotic locales and staying at five-star hotels. It’s really more about getting out of the space you’re in and experiencing different scenery. For me, travel has a strong connection to nature, the outdoors, and extrapolating upon that a bit further, wildlife and animals in general.
Art, on the other hand, is as essential as oxygen to creative, visual beings like me. At its core, art represents freedom. As Kris Kristofferson wrote and Janice Joplin sang, “Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.” When you finally get to the end of yourself and just let go, that’s where life really begins.
When I finally got to the end of myself, I started traveling and painting – and little by little, my spark returned. And once that happens, something else becomes clear: it’s natural to want to share that spark with others.
An extension of that desire is finding – or creating – a community. Not everyone around us will understand this pull, and that’s okay. But there is something powerful about being among creative, dreamer, wanderer types who simply need to be with their people.
That is the genesis of Shiloh + Bella.
There’s something powerful about being among creative, dreamer, wanderer types who simply need to be with their people.
This space exists to connect travelers, artists, and curious souls – to where they go, what they create, and how those experiences shape them. It’s a place to share not just where you’ve been or what you’ve made, but what you’ve learned and how it made you feel.
Whether through story, image, art, or conversation, this is an open invitation to share your spark – and to be inspired by the sparks of others.
There are many ways to participate in Shiloh + Bella. Not all of us are writers, and not everyone is comfortable telling their story in the same way – and that’s part of the beauty of this space.
Stories may take the form of words, images, art, or conversation. Some voices will be shared directly, others through collaboration. What matters most is intention, honesty, and a willingness to reflect.
Shiloh + Bella is guided with care. Any work we choose to share is curated thoughtfully and held to standards that reflect our values – not for perfection, but for authenticity, respect, and meaning.
This is a space meant to inspire, connect, and uplift. How it continues to take shape will evolve over time, just as we do.
